FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
Plain answers about what Cadenza is, how it connects to your ALM, and how it handles your data.
What is Cadenza?
Cadenza works as an engineering brain over the toolchain a team already uses. It connects to IBM DOORS Next, Siemens Polarion, PTC Codebeamer, PTC Windchill and Jama Connect, reads how requirements, tests and links connect across the levels, finds the gaps, and writes approved fixes back in bulk. It adds to your tools; it doesn't replace them.
Which ALM tools does Cadenza work with?
IBM DOORS Next, Siemens Polarion, PTC Codebeamer, PTC Windchill and Jama Connect.
Cadenza connects through each tool's own API, with the account your team already has.
Does Cadenza replace my ALM?
No. Cadenza reads your items on demand through the tool's own API, analyses them, and writes approved changes back to the same place. Your data stays in your ALM: nothing to migrate, no lock-in.
Can Cadenza change our ALM without asking?
No. Nothing is written without your approval. Each write is logged with the value before and after, and most writes can be undone, also after a restart. Creating an item or adding a comment can't be undone from Cadenza; the screen says so before you approve.
What is NPLF scoring?
N, P, L and F stand for not, partially, largely and fully achieved. This is the rating scale used in Automotive SPICE assessments. Cadenza's scoring engine rates SYS.1 to SYS.3 and SWE.1 to SWE.6 with deterministic, auditable rules instead of AI, so the same project data always produces the same score. Every rating traces back to concrete work items and links in your ALM.
Does Cadenza support ASPICE, ISO 26262, and SOTIF?
Cadenza rates your project against ASPICE SYS.1 to SYS.3 and SWE.1 to SWE.6 and helps you close the gaps it finds. For ISO 26262, test case generation picks test methods by ASIL. There is no ISO 26262 or SOTIF analysis beyond that.
Cadenza is a preparation and analysis tool: it does not certify compliance and does not replace a formal assessment.
How does AI test case generation work?
Cadenza reads a requirement from your ALM and generates structured test cases for it, including test steps and expected results, which you review before anything is written back. AI features run on a bring-your-own-key (BYOK) basis: you provide your own Azure OpenAI key, so inference runs on your tenant.
Where is our data stored? Is Cadenza GDPR-compliant?
Your requirements stay in your ALM. Cadenza reads them on demand and writes changes back through the tool's own API; it keeps what it needs to work, such as assessments and the write log, in its own database. The hosted service runs at Hetzner in Nuremberg, Germany, and with BYOK your AI calls run on your own Azure OpenAI tenant. Cadenza is designed to meet GDPR requirements. The details are in our privacy policy.
How do I get a price?
Contact sales. Licences are per user, monthly or annual, and you bring your own Azure OpenAI key. Tell us about your team and your tool, and we'll send a quote.
Can Cadenza run on-premise or air-gapped?
Not today. Cadenza runs as a hosted service. Installs inside your own infrastructure, air-gapped setups and self-hosted models such as vLLM or Ollama are not validated. If you need one of these, talk to us.
How do I book a demo?
Book a slot at cal.eu/cadenza/demo and we'll show Cadenza running against a live project in your ALM. If you'd rather start in writing, send us a message via the contact page. We reply within one business day.
